We are in our organic clemenrubi mandarin orchard. It is a variety of the clementine family, very precocious and has a rapid growth, which is why it is harvested at the end of September or beginning of October, depending on the weather, as citrus fruit needs to cool down at night to change the colour of the skin.
These mandarins are normally the first ones to be ripe on the inside and on the outside they look light green and yellow but this does not mean that they are green because citrus fruits ripen on the inside before the colour of the skin, which is why the harvest date is not certain as we cannot send mandarins with a greenish appearance even if they are ripe on the inside as each person has a different taste and for some they look good and for others they do not.
These mandarins are not grown on a large scale because in general they are not very productive kg per tree so it does not compensate the crop to farmers, we do want to have a plot of this variety of organic mandarins because we start the mandarin season earlier as the clemenules mandarin is harvested 30 days later than the clemenrubi mandarin. also this variety of mandarins usually and according to the way they are grown then come out with little juice and this is a problem.
in our case we don’t have this problem, the mandarins we grow organically have a lot of juice and they are tasty, this has a lot to do with the way we grow them with natural products and the soil they are planted in is a very good red and semi-sandy soil, they have the optimum point of acidity and sweetness.
