Hello, friends of the I want of oranges blog. Today I’m going to show you how to make a spectacular orange cake. I assure you that you are going to love it and it is ideal to drink with a good coffee, smoothie, infusion or whatever you want.
Easy orange sponge cake recipe
This cake is prepared in the blink of an eye. You only have to wait about 40 minutes for it to bake and then it cools down.
This homemade cake is very easy to prepare and you will find all the ingredients without problem. You can find oranges on our Quieronaranjas.com website, they are delicious, and if you want to decorate it with candied orange you can also find it here and everything is organic.
And now, let’s start with the ingredients:
- A mold 20 cm in diameter by 10 in height
- 4 XL eggs of 75 g each
- 250 g of sugar
- 1 whole orange 240 g
- 110 g of mild olive or sunflower oil
- 360 g of common flour with 10% protein
- 15 g of baking powder or baking powder
- 1 natural yogurt of 125 g
- A pinch of salt
How to make the orange sponge cake, step by step recipe
- We begin to prepare our orange sponge cake by preheating the oven to 170º.
- We wash the orange very well (which, as we have said previously, can be found at Quieronaranjas.com) and we cut it into small pieces, with the skin included.
- We cut it into pieces so that it is crushed better and it must be special for juice.
- Add the orange, sugar, eggs, oil, yogurt and a pinch of salt to a bowl.
- Blend with the blender and when not even an orange peel remains, add the dry ingredients.
- We sift the flour with the yeast so that there are no lumps in our easy homemade cake.
- Now we move everything to integrate the ingredients.
- Next we take a mold 20 centimeters in diameter by 10 in depth.
- We put wax paper on the bottom and on the sides as well.
- This will help prevent the cake from sticking to the bottom or walls of the pan.
- Fill the mold with our sponge cake and give it a few strokes to remove air bubbles.
- We leave the mold in the lower part of the oven and cook at 170º with heat up and down.
- We cook for 43 minutes, but, depending on how your oven is, it can be before or after.
- Do the toothpick test, if it comes out dry it is ready and we let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Then we unmold it, we turn the mold very carefully to remove it from the mold.
- We remove the paper, place the rack on top, turn it over and let it cool.
- To decorate, candied oranges, icing sugar and grated orange are ideal.
And our cake would be ready, I hope you enjoy it, you will not regret it.
Until next time friends of the blog.
