Organic Sugar Cane from Valencia

Our organic sugar cane grown in Valencia is cultivated using traditional methods, just as our ancestors did, respecting nature and the natural cycles of the land.

At Quiero Naranjas we grow this sugar cane organically in our own fields in Valencia. We harvest it by hand, manually remove the leaves and cut each cane one by one without using industrial machinery. In this way we maintain a natural and carefully handled product from the field to your table.

Sugar cane is not only known for its naturally sweet taste, but also for its energetic and mineral properties. Its juice contains minerals such as magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium, which provide natural energy.

To make handling and transport easier, we cut the sugar cane into pieces of approximately 50 cm, making it easier to prepare and use at home.

Properties of sugar cane

Sugar cane is traditionally appreciated for its natural properties:

How sugar cane is consumed

Sugar cane is mainly used to extract its natural juice, using either manual or electric machines designed to press the cane and obtain fresh juice.

It can also be consumed in a traditional way:

1. Cut a piece of cane between two nodes (from one node to the next). It is important not to cut through the node, as that part is harder.
2. Peel the outer skin with a knife until the lighter and juicy interior appears.
3. Chew small pieces to extract the natural sweet juice.

Once the juice has been extracted, the fibrous material can be discarded, since what is actually consumed is the juice.

This is a natural and traditional product that is becoming increasingly difficult to find, but it is still appreciated for its taste and the unique experience of consuming it naturally.
