A learning experience under the orange trees
A few days ago, we were delighted to welcome a group of German students accompanied by their Spanish teacher, who has also been a long-time customer of ours. They came to see up close how we grow our oranges, and what they experienced was an authentic journey of flavor, culture, and nature ???.
Discovering real fruit and real farming
From the start, the group showed great interest and engagement. We walked through the orchard, picked loquats straight from the tree, tasted kumquats, collected aloe vera leaves and lemons ?, and even saw the first pomegranate blossoms ?. But what surprised them the most was the taste of freshly picked oranges: they found it incredible — so different from what they usually get in German supermarkets ??.
Explaining our ecological methods
During the visit, I explained how we work with genuine organic farming, without using any chemicals ??. They were very intrigued to learn that we control pests using natural predators that shelter during the winter in the wild grasses we leave between the trees. In spring, we mulch those grasses along with pruned branches using the tractor, returning organic matter to the soil and enhancing its natural fertility ?.
A fresh idea: group shipments to Germany
The students listened attentively and showed great respect for our way of working. Some of them even showed interest in organizing a full pallet of fruit to be shipped to Germany for the group to share. A practical and economical solution that ensures the fruit arrives fresher, straight from the field ??.
