Spring has arrived in full force on our orange farm, and during this Easter season, we want to share a truly special moment with you: the magnificent bloom of our Lane Late orange trees<\/strong>, a late-season variety that is still giving us delicious fruit while already preparing for the next harvest.<\/p>\n

In the video we uploaded to our YouTube channel (you\u2019ll find it below), we show you a scene that moves any farmer: trees loaded with ripe oranges ready for picking<\/strong>, while also covered in white blossoms that signal the beginning of the next season. A double delight for the senses \u2014 the scent of orange blossom in the air is simply breathtaking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

? Two Varieties, Two Stages in the Cycle<\/h2>\n

We grow two varieties in our orchard: Navelina<\/strong>, which has already been harvested, and Lane Late<\/strong>, which is still in full production. This allows us to stagger the harvest and make better use of our time and resources.<\/p>\n

The video clearly shows the difference between the two rows:<\/p>\n

  • Navelina Row<\/strong>: shows trees that have already been harvested and are now ready for pruning and recovery.<\/li>\n
  • Lane Late Row<\/strong>: in full glory, with heavy branches bearing ripe fruit and flowers at the same time. A true natural wonder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u2702\ufe0f Pruning: A Key to Quality<\/h2>\n

    Once the harvest is finished, we begin one of the most important tasks: pruning the orange trees<\/strong>. This process not only helps shape the tree but also has a direct impact on the quality of the fruit<\/strong> for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

    At this time of year, we focus on:<\/p>\n

    • ? Removing dry or damaged branches<\/strong>, which weaken the tree and may attract pests.<\/li>\n
    • \u2600\ufe0f Opening up the canopy<\/strong> to allow more sunlight to reach the interior, improving the quality and sweetness of next year\u2019s oranges.<\/li>\n
    • ? Reducing branch density<\/strong> to enhance air circulation and prevent disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Although labor-intensive, this manual work is essential if we want to continue producing high-quality fruit<\/strong>. A well-pruned tree yields better oranges: larger, sweeter, and more evenly ripened.<\/p>\n
